SSI Deep Diving Specialty

The best dives in the Andaman Sea happen a little deeper. Offshore sites such as Koh Tachai Pinnacle, Richelieu Rock, and Koh Bon Pinnacle show why depth, blue water, and planning matter. The Deep Diving Specialty gives you the skills and knowledge to enjoy these sites safely and confidently within recreational limits.

More Than Just Going Deeper

The Deep Diving course is about understanding what changes as you descend and making deliberate decisions at every stage. Gas consumption increases. No-decompression limits shorten. Narcosis becomes a factor. All of these are manageable with the right training and awareness.

  • Gas management — plan consumption and turnaround points for deeper profiles
  • Narcosis awareness — recognise the signs and respond appropriately
  • Dive computers — read and act on real-time data at depth
  • Buoyancy and trim — maintain control during descents and ascents
  • Buddy procedures — planned responses if something changes at depth

Your Training Dives Have Something Worth Seeing

Sharks and Blue Water

Andaman Sea channels bring grey reef sharks, eagle rays and pelagic fish on the current. Your deeper training dives happen on the same sites our guided guests visit.

Dramatic Drop-offs

Some Andaman Sea reef and pinnacle sites drop into deeper water beyond recreational limits. Deep dive training on a real site is a different experience from a sand bottom at depth.

Warm, Clear Water

Water temperature stays around 28 to 30 degrees at depth. Visibility on most sites is 20 to 30 metres. You focus on the skills, not staying warm.
