Core Specialty
SSI Enriched Air Nitrox
When you are doing two or three dives a day in Thailand, bottom time matters. Enriched Air Nitrox extends your no-decompression limits and reduces the nitrogen loading that causes surface fatigue. This is the most popular specialty course we offer — and one of the most practical for multi-dive days around Similan Islands day trips, Koh Bon diving, and Richelieu Rock diving.

The Essentials
Enriched Air Nitrox — Key Facts
1 day, no dives required
Duration and Structure
- Digital learning : Nitrox theory, oxygen exposure and planning
- No mandatory dives : Certification is knowledge-based only
- Practical element : Cylinder analysis and dive computer setup
- Completion : Same day you arrive or the morning before a dive day
Age 10+
Prerequisites
- Certification : Open Water Diver or equivalent
- Age : Minimum 10 years
- Equipment : Nitrox cylinders available at the centre
Longer bottom time
What You Get
- Extended no-decompression limits at recreational depths
- Less nitrogen loading across multiple dives per day
- Reduced surface fatigue on full dive days
- Pairs directly with Deep Diving for maximum benefit

How It Works
More Oxygen, Less Nitrogen, Better Dives
Standard air is 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. Enriched Air Nitrox typically contains 32% or 36% oxygen. The higher oxygen fraction means less nitrogen per breath — which translates directly to longer no-decompression limits and less residual nitrogen building up across a full day of diving.
- EANx 32 — extends NDL at 20 m from 45 min to approximately 95 min
- Oxygen analysis — always verify the mix before diving
- Computer setup — set your dive computer to the correct oxygen fraction
- Oxygen exposure limits — understand and plan within safe limits
- No depth change needed — use Nitrox on any dive within its depth limit
