What You Will Learn
The Reef Is a System, Not a Collection
Most divers notice individual species. Marine Ecology teaches you to see the relationships between them — why certain fish cluster around specific coral types, what the absence of a species means, how a bleaching event ripples through the whole food web. These observations make every dive more informative.
- Reef zones — fore reef, back reef, sheltered shallow water and their distinct communities
- Trophic levels — producers, herbivores, predators and decomposers
