The Session
Simple, Playful and Safe
We keep the Try Mermaid experience low-key. After a short briefing on land, you get used to the monofin and tail in very shallow water before moving into sheltered shallow water. The instructor stays close throughout, helping with movement and suggesting poses when you feel comfortable. There is no pressure to go deeper or hold your breath longer than feels right.
- Equipment fitting — tail and monofin sized and adjusted for you before entering the water
- Entry and adjustment — getting comfortable in shallow water at your own pace
- Mermaid kicks — basic dolphin kick technique for smooth, efficient movement
- Gliding and streamlining — floating, sinking and gliding in a relaxed mermaid position
- Posing — surface and gentle underwater poses, with breaks whenever you need them
- Photos and video — optional, arranged in advance or on the day
