As an SSI Lifeguard Instructor, you’ll train the next generation of professional lifeguards for pools, beaches and open water. In Khao Lak, you learn to run realistic scenarios, assess candidates and deliver high-impact water safety training in a real island environment.

Train Professional Lifeguards
The Lifeguard Instructor program focuses on how to plan, deliver and evaluate complete SSI Lifeguard courses. You’ll refine your own rescue and teaching skills while learning how to coach candidates through challenging, realistic water safety scenarios.
Who Can Become a Lifeguard Instructor?
This course is intended for experienced lifeguards and instructors who already hold strong rescue, first aid and leadership skills. If you’re unsure whether you meet all SSI requirements, we’re happy to review your certifications and experience with you.
Typical Entry Requirements
- Active SSI Lifeguard (or equivalent, with crossover as needed)
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED & O₂ training (React Right)
- Strong swimming ability & fitness level
- Experience working as a lifeguard or in water safety roles
- Comfortable leading groups & giving clear instructions
